AC Lacombe – Yellow
ACC Lacombe is a medium to large seeded yellow pea, with excellent standability - equal to or better than CDC Meadow. Current yield testing is showing these peas have up to 18% higher yield potential than CDC Meadow.
CDC Inca - Yellow
For much of Western Canada for 2015, stresses have been largely due to drought. When evaluating peas in these conditions, you want to look for varieties that tend to flower longer despite the conditions. CDC Inca’s are a new variety that are standing out. Yield of CDC Inca’s are 117% of CDC Saffron. R rating for powdery mildew and I rating for fusarium. Good seed coat durability and good dimpling. Watch for CDC Inca yellow peas. Medium seed size.
Faba Beans
Snowbird
Faba Beans are becoming more popular on the prairies as a high yielding pulse with great protein content. The zero tannin variety Snowbird is great to use as a feed source for cattle.
Snowbird yields better than CDC Fatima with maturity 104-115 days. Weight of 495 grams/1000 seeds. Snowbird has a white flower with zero tannins.
